Grant To Help Bronson FD Purchase Equipment

(BRONSON) – A grant is going to help the Bronson Fire Department purchase some new equipment.

Fire Department officials say they have been awarded a Federal Emergency Management Agency, Assistance to Firefighters Grant in the amount of $229,000. The money will be used to buy new self contained breathing apparatus, a compressor system to fill those cylinders and two rapid intervention team packs.

The packs are used by a firefighter if their breathing units should malfunction or run out of air.

The Bronson Area Fire Association will provide five percent of the grant and the remaining amount will come from the Department of Homeland Security.
