Ligonier trail project wins Regional Cities funding

INDIANAPOLIS – A trail project in Ligonier is getting Regional Cities funding.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation approved almost $249-thousand dollars in funding for the Strawberry Valley Cultural Trail.

The five mile trail will connect downtown Ligonier with parks and historical sites. It will incorporate the existing Riverwalk Trail along the Elkhart River with signage, benches, bike racks and more.

It will eventually connect to the Pumpkinvine Trail, the Syracuse-Wawasee Trail, and the Noble and Fishing Line Trails.

The project total cost is $1.27 million dollars.
