Ohio Murder Suspect Arrested On Indiana Toll Road

(LAPORTE COUNTY, IN) – A suspect wanted in connection with an incident in Ohio was arrested in Northwest Indiana.

On Saturday, Indiana State Police Dispatch received information from Ohio authorities that a man who was wanted in an investigation of an alleged murder of a 17 year old may be on the Indiana Toll Road. The information was passed along to troopers.

At approximately 9:57 AM, Trooper Paul Arnold located a vehicle that matched the description given by Ohio authorities. Arnold followed the vehicle, and was able to confirm it was the vehicle being sought. The automobile continued heading west, past the LaPorte exit, with Arnold following until backup arrived.

Arnold was able to make a traffic stop on the vehicle near the 38 mile marker, with assistance by an officer from the Westville Police Department. The driver of the suspect vehicle, a 22 year old man from Painesville, Ohio was taken into custody and transported to the LaPorte County Jail.

The Willoughby Ohio Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a 17 year old boy. The name of the suspect, and more information on the case, will be released once the man is arraigned.
