(THREE RIVERS) – Three Rivers Police are investigating the discovery of a body.

Three Rivers Police Chief Scott Boling says at 6:12 Friday morning, officers were called to the 200 block of Middle Street on a report of a deceased subject behind a residence. When they arrived, officers confirmed that the person was beyond medical care.

Because of the circumstances of this incident, the St. Joseph County Major Crimes Task Force was activated and called to the scene.

The body was taken to WMed for identification and examination.
