(CASSOPOLIS) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office are investigating two crashes that happened on Wednesday.

Deputies were first called out at 12:42 PM to M-40 south of Bald Hill Street in Newburg Township for a single vehicle crash. They determined that 31 year old Adrian Black of Three Rivers was driving north on M-40 when he lost control of his truck and trailer. Black struck the guardrail, then went down the hill, causing the truck to roll end over end.

Black was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. His passenger, Tara Litteral, was transported to the Beacon Three Rivers Health Emergency Room. Both Black and Litteral were wearing their seatbelts.

At 7:39 PM Wednesday, deputies responded to a crash near the intersection of Decatur Road and Fosdick Street in Volinia Township. 31 year old Jenequa Parsons of Lawrence was driving west on Fosdick Street when she swerved to avoid a deer. She lost control of her automobile, going up an embankment and overturning before coming to a stop in a bean field.

Parsons was able to get out of her vehicle, and was taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt.
