(TEKONSHA TOWNSHIP) – One person is dead in a motorcycle v pick up collision.

Michigan State Police say a 42 year old Union City woman was driving a pick up on Saturday at 3:30 PM and was on M-60 near 18 ½ Mile Road in Tekonsha Township. The pick up was turning into a driveway when it was struck from behind by a motorcycle.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 67 year old Jackson man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing his helmet.

The pick up driver and her passenger sustained minor injuries, and were taken to Oaklawn Hospital for treatment and later released. Both had been wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.

Assisting at the scene were the Tekonsha Fire Department, the Marshall Area Fire And Ambulance and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation.
