Elkhart Man Receives Life Threatening Injuries In Crash

(MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP) – A Northeast Indiana man suffered life threatening injuries in a one vehicle crash.

The Michigan State Police say the incident happened January 1 on U.S. 12 near Burke Road in Mottville Township. Witnesses told troopers that the driver was heading east on U.S. 12 when he tried to pass another passenger vehicle and a Michigan Department of Transportation plow truck.

After passing the plow truck, witnesses say the driver, a 23 year old Elkhart man, lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital by Life Care Ambulance.

Assisting at the scene were the White Pigeon and Constantine Police Departments, and the White Pigeon Fire Department.

The crash is still under investigation.
