Four People Injured In Police Chase And Crash

(ELKHART) – Four people were injured in a crash while fleeing from police.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says they were pursuing a vehicle in the City of Elkhart that was driving west on Jackson Street just after 4 AM on December 24. The suspect vehicle was approaching Main Street when it collided with a light pole.

The driver, 19 year old Maliek Long of Goshen, had left arm pain and was taken to an area hospital. He was later lodged in the Elkhart County Jail on charges of operating while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement, driving while suspended prior, no insurance and speed too fast for weather conditions.

There were three passengers in the automobile. 19 year old David Mills of Elkhart had head pain and was taken to an area hospital. 19 year old Robert Walton of Elkhart was also taken to the hospital suffering from stomach pain and head pain.

A 17 year old Elkhart boy was hospitalized with head pain.
