(THREE RIVERS) – Authorities say that a soft lockdown was instituted for a short time Friday at Three Rivers Middle School due to a possible threat.

Three Rivers Middle School Principal Jason Bingaman issued a statement saying while students were in their second period class on Friday, the Middle School received a tip through OK2Say about a possible threat to student and staff safety. The lockdown was put into place and teachers continued with their lessons, but no one was allowed in the hallways.

It was determined that this possible threat was in relation to a previous tip received by the school and was being address by school staff and Three Rivers Police.

Since there was no valid threat, Three Rivers Middle School resumed it's regular routine at 10:25 AM.
