(BRONSON) – More charges have been filed against a Bronson man following an incident in mid November.

Branch County District Court officials say two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct has been brought against 35 year old Kristopher Franks. He is already facing charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, unlawful imprisonment and possession of a dangerous weapon.

An arraignment was held for a Bronson man arrested following an incident in his apartment.

It's alleged that on November 16, Franks came up to a woman and asked if they could talk and went to his apartment on South Matteson Street. Franks allegedly put his hand on the woman's throat, making it difficult for her to breathe. She was able to get free from his grip and leave the apartment and call for help.

Both the Bronson Police Department and the Michigan State Police went to Franks' apartment and found a pair of brass knuckles that were on a table.

Franks has plead not guilty to the two new charges and bond was set at $100,000. He had plead not guilty to the three original charges, and was being held on a $50,000 bond on those counts. If he is able to post bond, Franks was ordered by the court to not have any contact with the woman.

A preliminary examination is set for November 30.
