(THREE RIVERS) – A Three Rivers business has received a special recognition from State Senator Kim LaSata.

LaSata announced that L.A.'s Coffee Cafe has been named her September Small Business Of The Month Award recipient.

L.A.’s Coffee Cafe was founded in 2000 by Leslie, Jerry and Aimee Robbins. The family opened up shop in an old pump house just above the Rocky River, and their business has grown into a staple of the Three Rivers community.

LaSata says not only does the Robbins family dedicate their lives to serving their customers, they have routinely demonstrated a commitment to their community. Since November 2020, they have provided 20 lunches a week to the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging with the help of donations from the community.

L.A.'s Coffee Cafe has also shown its commitment to supporting America’s veterans. They offered their location as a stop for Riki Rachtman’s ride across America to support “Stop Soldier Suicide”, which is an organization focused on providing mental health counseling, housing assistance, emergency financial aid, alternative therapies, and more to those who served the country.
