(STURGIS) – The Sturgis City Commission started their meeting Wednesday presenting a proclamation to Cathi Abbs.

Abbs retired as the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director in December. She served in the position from 2005 to 2020 and was instrumental in the creation of the Sturgis Fest celebration and other events that have become regular occurrences in Sturgis.

Sturgis Mayor Robert Hile read the proclamation, sharing that Abbs not only tried to help Sturgis, but also other organizations by serving on several boards. ...... {LISTEN}.

Abbs attended the virtual meeting and said the success of the Sturgis Chamber was not just because of what she did, but several people who supported her and wanted to see the City and the Chamber be successful. ...... {LISTEN}.

Abbs says she is privileged and honored to receive the proclamation.
