(STURGIS TOWNSHIP) – Two men were taken into custody after a traffic stop.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department says on Monday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Hazel Street in Sturgis Township for an improper plate. During the stop, deputies located a loaded firearm as well as methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

A 32 year old Sturgis man and a 27 year old Constantine man were arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on felony charges of felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, felony firearms, carrying a concealed weapon inside a motor vehicle and possession of methamphetamine.
