(CALIFORNIA TOWNSHIP) – A man has been charged after a crash that happened Sunday in Branch County's California Township.

Branch County Sheriff John Pollack says his deputies were called to the area of Fremont and Copeland Roads around 4:30 PM Sunday, and found a vehicle in a ditch.

The investigation determined that an automobile driven by 20 year old Kera Reichart of Montgomery, Michigan was going south on Fremont Road. A red pickup was heading north, and tried to turn left onto Copeland Road. The pick up turned into the side of Reichart's car, and then left the scene, westbound on Copeland Road.

Witnesses told deputies they knew who was driving the pick up and told them where the person lived. Officers went to the house and found the pick up. They also arrested a 62 year old Coldwater man for driving while intoxicated causing a personal injury accident. He was taken to the Branch County Jail.

Reichart was treated by Life Care Ambulance and the Fremont Fire and Rescue at the scene.

Also assisting deputies were the Steuben County Sheriff's Department. The crash is still under investigation.
