NE Indiana Reporting 93 New COVID-19 Cases

(INDIANAPOLIS) – There are 93 new COVID-19 cases being reported in Northeast Indiana as of Thursday afternoon.

The Indiana State Department of Health says LaGrange County has 14 new cases. That means 116 residents now have the coronavirus, and there have been 2 deaths in the county.

Noble County is reporting they have 17 new cases, which brings the total number of people in the county with coronavirus to 268. 21 people have died from the virus. Steuben County has 1 new case, making 88 people who have tested positive and 2 people who have died.

In DeKalb County 1 new case of COVID-19 has been detected. 44 residents now have the virus and 1 person has passed away. Elkhart County has 60 new coronavirus cases, which means there are now 1,495 residents that have the virus. 28 people have died from their fight with coronavirus.

Statewide, 452 new cases of coronavirus are being reported. To date, 36,096 people have contracted the virus. There were also 20 more people who have died from COVID-19, bringing the total number of Hoosiers who have died to 2,052.

The State Department of Health says from Wednesday to Thursday, 7,508 new tests were given. All total, 285,234 people have been tested for coronavirus, with 12.7 percent of those tests coming back as positive.
