(ELKHART) – Minor injuries were reported following a two vehicle collision just east of Elkhart Tuesday afternoon.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 29 year old Levi Franks of Elkhart was turning north from County Road 17 onto County Road 4 just after 2 PM. Franks disregarded the traffic light and struck a south bound automobile, driven by 57 year old Derrick Merwin of Union, Michigan.

Both drivers were examined at the scene by medical personnel, but refused treatment.

Franks was given a citation for disregarding a traffic signal.
