Lagrange Courts respond to COVID-19 threat

LAGRANGE – The courts in Lagrange County are taking steps to limit exposure during the COVID-19 emergency.

Court proceedings will continue as prudent. Requests for continuances of trials and hearings will be considered.

Attorneys will be allowed to participate in pre-trial conferences and non-evidentiary hearings by telephone.

Small Claims hearings will be conducted by telephone. Attorneys are encouraged to seek continuances to a date after May 29th.

All civil jury and criminal trials scheduled through May 29th will be postponed when possible.

Persons with scheduled probation appointments must call the probation office. Some probationers may be notified in writing to appear in person.

Questions about the new restrictions should be directed to your attorney or by calling the courts.
