NEWBURY TOWNSHIP – A Shipshewana woman was seriously injured when she was struck while walking her bicycle up a hill Wednesday afternoon.
Esther Slabaugh was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with pain to her legs, back, pelvis and abdomen.
Joseph Mast of Shipshewana was driving a tractor carrying a large hay bale and told police he didn’t see Slabaugh before striking her.
Shipshewana Police and Fire assisted deputies at the scene.
