LAGRANGE – The new one-year contract between the Lakeland School Corporation and Lakeland Education Association is signed and sealed.

The school board approved the contract after no one from the public offered comments during a public hearing last night.

The agreement raises teacher base pay by 2 percent and would split any increases in insurance costs 50/50.

The school board voted 3-2 in refusing to accept a resignation from 5th grade teacher Ashley Wetzel. Wetzel is leaving for another opportunity.

A building lease agreement for Lima Brighton School was pulled from the agenda after a representative of the requesting organization was unable to attend last night’s meeting.
