(STURGIS) - The host Sturgis girls basketball team came out with a suffocating defense which led them to a 62-16 win over visiting Portage Northern in the season opener for both teams. Angela Cary, Kinder Smith and Sydney Bir each had 12 points for the Lady Trojans. Cora Phillips added 10 points in the win.
