(LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP) - One person suffered life threatening injuries in a van versus semi crash.
According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Lutz Road and Fairchild Road on Friday just after 3:30 PM. They determined that a 49-year-old Grand Rapids man was traveling north on Lutz Road in a semi. He collided with a southbound van driven by a 21-year-old Jones man.
The Jones man was flown from the scene to Beacon Hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries. The occupants of the semi were not injured.
Everyone was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
