(STURGIS) - Andrew Kuk attended his final Sturgis City Commission meeting Wednesday as City Manager.
Kuk agreed to step down as City Manager effective July 25.
During his comments, Kuk thanked City staff both past and present. He said he is proud of the work that was done during his time in Sturgis. Kuk says he was able to do some hard work over the years with City staff and have some laughter along the way.
Next Kuk gave his thanks to the City Commission, past and present, for letting him serve Sturgis. He is glad to have been a part of the City story and expects the next phase for Sturgis will be a positive one.
Kuk then thanked the community. He says he had never heard of Sturgis before coming as an intern, but he was able to learn and grow over the last 18-plus years and even start his family in Sturgis. Kuk says he has met some wonderful people and developed some great friendships and hopes in some small way he has been a part of a positive change in the community. (LISTEN ABOVE).
Doug Terry has been hired as the Sturgis Interim City Manager.
