Indiana Unemployment Rate Holds At 3.3% in June

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana's labor market remained steady as the state's unemployment rate was unchanged from May to June at 3.3%.

According to the monthly employment report released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the State unemployment rate remains below the National unemployment rate of 4.2%.

The report shows that Indiana's labor force participation rate is 63.2%, compared to the National average of 61.5%. This is the number of Hoosiers 16 and older who are either working or looking for work.

Indiana's total labor force stands at 3,491,269 for June. The total private employment is 2,843,400, which is an increase of 1,800 since May.

Industries that experienced job increases during June were Private Educational & Health Services (+1,800); Construction (+1,700); Trade, Transportation & Utilities (+1,700) and Financial Activities (+1,700).

County jobless rates will be released later this month.
