(LANSING) - An established business will build a new facility in Cass County.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced Friday that Fibrosan Inc., a global composites manufacturer, will be constructing a new facility in Cassopolis. They will invest $16.8 million and will create 32 new jobs.

Whitmer says Michigan is on the move and open for business, competing for and winning big projects in next-generation industries. She says the announcement will help cement Michigan as the best place to chase the next big idea.

Fibrosan Inc., will construct a new fiberglass manufacturing facility in Cassopolis. This new manufacturing investment will support its continued growth in the North American recreational vehicle market and strengthen its ability to serve customers more efficiently and competitively. Fibrosan's expansion is driven by sustained demand from U.S.-based RV manufacturers and the operational challenges associated with supplying the market exclusively from its existing production facilities overseas.

To help ensure this investment happened in Michigan, the Michigan Strategic Fund has approved support for this investment through a $200,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant.

Cassopolis City Manager Emilie G. LaGrow, Esq., says this project represents exactly the kind of investment that strengthens the long-term sustainability of the Village of Cassopolis. She says they are thrilled to welcome this family-owned company to the community and are confident this will be a strong and lasting partnership that benefits Cassopolis for generations to come.
