(STURGIS) - Some changes are coming to the Sturgis Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division says the transition in the Sturgis operations will allow the organization to continue providing essential support to individuals and families in St. Joseph County through a Salvation Army Service Center.

As a Service Center, the Salvation Army's location at 105 North Fourth Street will continue operating a weekly food pantry while discontinuing its hot meal program and Sunday morning worship services. The last day of the hot meal program will be Tuesday, June 23.

In addition to food assistance, residents will have access to emergency financial aid and referrals to additional community resources. Service Centers are supported by local volunteers and community partners working to ensure assistance remains available to those who need it most.

Case management and daily support services are also available through The Salvation Army in Branch County, located at 89 West Chicago Street in Coldwater.

While the way services are delivered in Sturgis are evolving, The Salvation Army's commitment to helping local individuals and families remains unchanged as it continues its mission of meeting human needs without discrimination.
