(BRONSON) - A Bronson man has been arrested on multiple charges following an online investigation.

Michigan State Police say their investigation started December 8, 2025 when authorities who were monitoring a BitTorrent network identified an IP address that was downloading child sexually abusive videos. A search warrant was obtained for a residence on Walker Street in Bronson, occupied by 39 year old David Slaybaugh and his mother.

A search of the home by troopers uncovered extensive evidence on multiple devices that were linked to Slaybaugh. They found over 400 images on his phone, more than 100 videos and images on a Samsung SSD and tens of thousands of additional images and videos on external hard drives.

Investigators say some of the pictures and videos depicted pre-pubescent children in explicit sexual acts.

Slaybaugh has been charged with two counts of aggravated child sexually abusive activity; one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Bond has been set at $100,000. If Slaybaugh is able to make his bond, he is not allowed to have unsupervised contact with anyone under 18, and he is not to be in possession of internet capable phones or computers.
