Centreville track teams finish in top 5 at D-3 Regional

(HILLSDALE) - The Centreville boys track team finished fourth, and the girls fifth at the Division 3 Regional meet at Hillsdale. For the boys, Matthew Bates was Regional Champion in the shot put and second in the discus and will move on to the State Finals in both events. Will Hulin took first place in the 3200 meters and set a new school record of 9:39.02 and was second in the 1600 meters, and will run in both events at the State Finals. Deandre Stout was second in the 200 meters and third in the 100 meters, also advancing to the State Finals. The 400 meter relay team of Stout, Brendan Sre, Dylan Schwartz and Brayden Swanwick were second and move to the State Finals. The 1600 meter relay team of Stout, Swanwick, Will Hulin and Micaiah Sylvester came in third and are now heading to the State Finals, along with the 3200 meter relay team of Hulin, Oliver Mildenberg, Max Reed and Riley Monson who were third and move on to the State Finals. In the girls events, Diannah Schwartz was Regional Champion in the 100 meters wheelchair adaptive, the 200 meter wheelchair adaptive, the 400 meter wheelchair adaptive and the shot put adaptive, and will participate in all four events at the State Meet. Lena Reed was Regional Champ in the shot put and moves on to the State Finals. The 3200 meter relay team of Berkley Shingledecker, Emma Boucas, Kate Hulin and Ellie Reed are Regional Champs and set a new school record in the event at 10:18.95 and advance to the State Finals. The 400 meter relay team of Nevaeh Prichard, Leah Robert, Shingledecker and Kaylyn Coney finished fourth and move on to the State Finals. The 1600 meter relay team of Shingledecker, Hulin, Ellie Reed and Kaylyn Coney finished third and will advance to the State Finals.
