(STURGIS) - The Sturgis girls tennis team won the 2026 Wolverine Conference Title after taking first place at the Wolverine Conference Championship Tournament, which Sturgis hosted. The Lady Trojans collected 59 points on the day to take first place and win their first Wolverine Conference title since 2002-2003 when the Lady Trojans were runner-up at the State Finals. Otsego was second in the tournament (45), Vicksburg finished third (44) followed by Paw Paw (41), Niles (31), Plainwell (29), Three Rivers (22) and Edwardsburg (17). Winning individual Conference Championships for Sturgis were Cora Phillips at First Singles; Mazie Sterling at Third Singles; Bella Currier at Fourth Singles; and the Fourth Doubles team of Lilly Whitehead and Stella Barry. Finishing second in their flights were Gracie Perry at Second Singles; Mya Eicher and Katelyn Halling at First Doubles along with Ella Whitehead and Bailey Cates at Third Doubles.
