(COLON) - The sinking fund millage for Colon Community Schools has been renewed.

Voters on Tuesday approved the renewal of the millage with 612 Yes votes and 387 No votes.

The sinking fund will remain at 1.2 mills and will run for an eight year period. It brings in approximately $300,000 annually.

The sinking fund can be used for such projects as roofs, boilers, parking lots and window glazing, and other things that have to be kept up around the district.

In the past, the sinking fund was used for such projects as the restructuring of the Colon Elementary parking lot, resurfacing the High School track and coils for the HVAC system.
