(STURGIS) - It was a tough night for the host Sturgis girls softball team as they dropped a Wolverine Conference double header to Three Rivers 22-0 in five innings and 16-0 in three innings. Ellie Ruesink got the win in game one for Three Rivers, going five innings without giving up a hit and 9 strikeouts. Giavanna Newburry was the winning pitcher in game two, throwing a 3 inning no hitter with 8 strikeouts. Ashlynn Barnes had 2 home runs and 8 RBI for Three Rivers. Madison Carr had 5 RBI and London Hoffmaster had 4 RBI. Sturgis is now 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the Wolverine Conference. Three Rivers improves to 5-1 and 4-0 in the Conference.
