Lakeland names Melissa Bateman as new Varsity softball coach

(LAGRANGE) - Lakeland School Corporation is proud to announce the hiring of Melissa Bateman as the new Head Varsity Softball Coach for Lakeland High School. Bateman brings more than a decade of coaching experience and a deep connection to both the sport and the Lakeland community. For the past six years, she has been running and organizing the LaGrange Softball program, where she has helped grow the program and inspire countless young athletes. A proud Lakeland alum, Bateman played softball for the Lakers more than 20 years ago under the guidance of Coach Sherry Severson. Looking ahead, Bateman is eager to continue building a strong and successful program that starts with developing young talent. Her goals include organizing youth camps and pitching clinics to grow enthusiasm for the game within the community.
