(CENTREVILLE) - Year end budget amendments will be presented to the St. Joseph County Commission during their meeting today.
During last week's Commission Executive Session, County Finance Director Angie Steinman shared that at the end of the year there are always work orders received that weren't anticipated, and some line items go over budget. Steinman says her job is to make sure every department is within budget and if not, she makes adjustments. She says by law this must be posted by December 31. If there are any changes Steinman says she brings them to the Commission.
Commissioner Christine Yunker asked about getting reports more frequently during the year. Steinman says she can and does where there are departments that are over budget. (LISTEN ABOVE).
Today's County Commission meeting will start at 5 PM on the third floor in the Historic Courthouse.
