(SHIPSHEWANA) - A Northeast Indiana law enforcement officer has turned himself in.

Indiana State Police say Shipshewana Town Marshall Juan Carlos Jasso turned himself into the LaGrange County Jail on Monday.

ISP was contacted in May 2025 in regard to an alleged domestic battery incident involving Jasso. They conducted an investigation and turned over their findings to the LaGrange County Prosecutor's Office. The case was then turned over to a special prosecutor due to Jasso's employment status.

Following a review by the special prosecutor a warrant was issued for Jasso on a charge of intimidation.

Jasso was hired to be Shipshewana Town Marshal in January 2023, after former Town Marshal Tom Fitch stepped down following 23 years on the job.
