(DETROIT) – The Atlanta Braves acquired Detroit Tigers outfielder Robbie Grossman late Monday night, the team announced, adding veteran depth to an already potent lineup. The defending World Series champions also were nearing a deal for Houston Astros right-hander Jake Odorizzi, according to multiple reports. Grossman, 32, was not in the lineup Monday night, when the Tigers lost 5-3 to the host Minnesota Twins. He is hitting .205 this season, with two home runs and 23 RBIs in 83 games. Grossman says he had a blast playing for the Tigers, and it didn’t end how he wanted it to, but it's part of this business and now he’s on to the next chapter in his baseball career. Detroit received Kris Anglin, a pitcher in Atlanta's minor league system, in exchange for Grossman, who has played both corner outfield spots for Detroit this season.
