No. 2 Centreville tops No.1 Reading 32-14 for District title
(CENTREVILLE) – There will be a new Division 8 State Champion in 2020 as host and No. 2 ranked Centreville never trailed as they beat the two time defending State Champion and No. 1 ranked Reading Rangers 32-14 in their District Championship game. Centreville intercepted the Rangers three times on the night, which helped them get the win on their home field. Centreville rushed for 307 yards on the night and had 373 yards of total offense. Sam Todd led the ground game with 141 yards rushing and also went 3 of 4 for 66 yards. Mason Lemmings rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown. ...... {LISTEN}. Teammate Jared Spender also had 65 yards on the ground. Gunner Bunning scored a touchdown and rushed for 36 yards. Matt Lorencz led the Centreville defense with 8 tackles. Jacob Spencer had 7 tackles and Tristan McElroy added 5 tackles. Centreville improves to 8-0 and will host No. 5 Sand Creek in a Regional game next week. Sand Creek scored late to beat No. 3 Addison 36-32. Reading ends the year at 7-2.
