(LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP) – An incident that happened in Lockport Township is now being called a death investigation.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Chief Deputy Zachary Zuk says the victim in the incident, 60 year old Cynthia Gee from Lockport Township, has died from the injuries she sustained.
On August 12, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office was sent to the 17,000 block of South River Road for a report of an unresponsive individual. When they arrived deputies discovered circumstances that warranted further
investigation to determine if foul play was involved.
Gee was taken to an area hospital where she later died.
Zuk says the matter is still being investigated. It appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no immediate threat to the public.
Zuk says the Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone in the area with security cameras, Ring devices or similar systems, to please review their footage from August 10 to August 12. Any recordings from this time frame may contain information that is valuable to the investigation.
If you have camera footage during this time span, please call St. Joseph County Central Dispatch at 269-467-4195.
