Sturgis BOE Approves Agreement With Burr Oak Schools

(STURGIS) – Sturgis Public Schools has entered into an agreement to handle business services for Burr Oak Community Schools.

Monday night, the Sturgis Board of Education was presented with the agreement, which is similar to the agreement that Sturgis has with Colon Community Schools.

During their meeting on August 11, the Burr Oak Board of Education unanimously approved the agreement.

Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert told the Board of Education that an additional person would have to be hired for the Business Office, and explains what that new position would do. ...... {LISTEN}.

Sturgis Finance Director Ray Sterling explains that what the new person will be doing depends on a lot of factors, such as how long it takes to train them and what needs to be done with the different tasks. He said they could be working on Colon Schools. Burr Oak Schools or Sturgis Schools matters.

The Sturgis Board of Education approved the agreement with Burr Oak Schools by a vote of 6-1.

Ebert says the new position will be posted soon.
