(STURGIS) – The City of Sturgis has their budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
Wednesday night, the Sturgis City Commission held a public hearing on the budget during their regular meeting. Sturgis City Manager Andrew Kuk shared that the format is a little different than previous budgets. ...... {LISTEN}.
Kuk shared that the General Fund is projected to have revenues and transfers of $11,744,025 in the next Fiscal Year. Expenditures and transfers are projected to be at $12,307,561, which is a decrease in net position of $563,536.
Overall revenues and transfers for the budget is projected at $65,124,099 and overall expenditures and transfers is projected to be $64,499,715. With $1,662,280 transferred into the overall budget, the change in net position will be a positive of $2,286,664.
The City Commission approved the budget by a vote of 6-2, with Mayor Frank Perez and Vice Mayor Rick Bir voting No. Commissioner Daniel Boring was not in attendance.
