Burr Oak Schools Approves Business Services Agreement With SPS

(BURR OAK) – Burr Oak Community Schools has approved their part of an agreement to have Sturgis Public Schools handle their business services.

Monday, Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert and Finance Director Ray Sterling shared with the Board of Education that Burr Oak Schools contacted Sturgis about handling their business services. It would be similar to what Sturgis Schools has done for Colon Schools for the last two and a half years.

Ebert told the Board of Education that an additional person would have to be hired for the Business Office, and explains what that new position would do. ...... {LISTEN}.

Later Monday, Ebert attended the Burr Oak Schools Board of Education meeting to answer any questions they might have on the agreement.

Burr Oak Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Butts shared that their Business Manager resigned and this agreement with Sturgis would save them money. ...... {LISTEN}.

The Burr Oak School Board unanimously approved the agreement. The Sturgis Board of Education will be asked to approve it during their August 18 meeting.
