(ELKHART) – An over three hour standoff ended Saturday with a arrest of a man.
The Elkhart Police Department says they received a call just before 12 PM Saturday about a welfare check. They went to a house in the 800 block of East Jefferson Boulevard near the Martin’s Super Market, and found a man barricaded inside, refusing to leave the house.
Officers say the man shot an arrow out of the window at someone outside of the house before the police arrived. The Elkhart County Regional SWAT Team arrived and the man climbed up on the roof of the house and eventually came down a ladder around 3:20 PM.
The man is being held in the Elkhart County Jail.
