(STURGIS) – Goals have been approved for Sturgis City Manager Andrew Kuk and City Clerk Ken Rhodes for 2024.

Kuk and Rhodes presented the proposed goals to the Sturgis City Commission during a recent meeting. Kuk explains how he and Rhodes came up with the goals. ...... {LISTEN}.

Kuk says the goals are not inclusive of expected work for the year; for example, budgeting and addressing fiscal responsibility for the City. The goals are highlighting areas that may not be regular processes.

The four goals that Kuk presented are: Personnel Policies and Procedures; Staff Succession Planning; Modernizing The City Website And Online Presence and to Update And Improve Communication Flow With The City Commission.

The four goals Rhodes brought to the Commissioners are: Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Training; Maximize Use Of Cemetery Computer Program; FOIA Management; and Update Vault.

Kuk says these goals cannot predict unknown projects that may take outsized importance through the year.

The goals were brought to the Commission because of their desire to see goals from staff that are directly under the purview of the Commission so that appropriate evaluation could take place in the future. Timing for these goals would be for staff performance evaluation, aligned with the end of the fiscal year and Commissioner terms in October.

The Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the goals.
