(STURGIS) – City leaders are looking to set goals and create a vision for Sturgis.

During a work session Wednesday, the Sturgis City Commission heard from City Manager Andrew Kuk about setting some goals and casting a vision for the City.

Kuk says this would be similar to the Sturgis 2022 Initiative, except instead of a ten year period, this time it would be for five years.

Kuk says after breaking down the City into Departments and Service Areas, he then created areas of work, or categories that the work the City does falls into. ...... {LISTEN}.

Kuk says this is the launching point to get input from Commissioners on those five areas and setting a vision for each of them. From there, the Commission would set three to five goals for each area and the set the actions to achieve the goals.

Kuk says he wants to give the Commissioners a few weeks to share their thoughts on these areas. Then in February Kuk says he will present that information back to the Commission.

Kuk says by April, he hopes to have the Commission vote on the final goals and vision for the City.
