Wind Chill Advisory In Effect Until 11 AM Wednesday

(UNDATED) – Cold weather and dangerous wind chills are in the forecast for the next two days.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory, in effect until 11 AM Wednesday for St. Joseph, Branch, Cass and Hillsdale Counties in Michigan, along with LaGrange, Elkhart, Noble, Steuben and DeKalb Counties in Indiana.

A cold air mass will slowly across the Great Lakes. Tuesday’s forecast is calling for a high of 3 degrees with breezy conditions and wind chill values during the day of -20 below zero. Tuesday night, lows will hit -1 below zero and wind chills of -20 below.

Temperatures on Wednesday will reach the upper teens with wind chills at -15 below zero. Thursday’s high will be in the the 20’s.

Between the cold air temperatures and the wind chills, frostbite can happen on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. If you are going to be outside, please make sure you are wearing hats, gloves and scarves. Also, limit your pets’ time outside as well.
