(STURGIS) – The Sturgis City Commission has approved rules for the new splash pad.

During last week’s meeting, the rules were presented as part of the Commission’s Consent Agenda. Commissioner Rick Bir had a question about some of the rules that had been presented to the Commission. ...... {LISTEN}.

Bir also asked about a rule that prohibited the use of the splash pad during thunder and lightning and one that says it could be shut down due to weather, or operational concern or maintenance.

Some of the Commissioners thought it would be good to have the splash pad hours on the sign.

The Commissioners approved the rules with the added hours of operation on the signs, along with the rest of the consent agenda, by a unanimous vote.

The splash pad is set to open this Spring.
