Wind Chill Advisory Issued For Area

(UNDATED) – A blast of cold weather is heading to Southern Michigan and Northern Indiana.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory from 12 AM Sunday until 1 PM Sunday for St. Joseph, Branch and Hillsdale Counties in Michigan, along with LaGrange, Noble, Elkhart and Steuben Counties in Indiana.

Forecasters are calling for temperatures today dropping into the low 20’s by late this afternoon and a low of 0 tonight. High temperatures on Sunday will be around 3 degrees and Monday near 5 degrees. With the winds accompanying this cold front, wind chill values will range from 15 to 20 degrees below zero for the next few days.

With temperatures and wind chills at this level, frostbite on exposed skin could happen in as little as 30 minutes.

Limit your time outside, and please wear a hat and gloves. In addition, limit your animals exposure to the cold temperatures as well.
