Suspect Arrested After Leading Police On Chase

(CALVIN TOWNSHIP) – A suspect is in custody after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says at 6 PM Tuesday deputies saw a vehicle driving through a field near Brownsville Road in Calvin Township. They lost sight of the vehicle then saw it again in the 64,000 block of Day Lake Road.
The suspect drove through another field in Penn Township, then got out of the car and ran away into some nearby woods. He was found hiding in a creek a half a mile away from where he abandoned the car and was arrested.
The 22 year old man is charged with fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstruction, possession of stolen property, and possession of meth.
Assisting were the Dowagiac Police Department, along with their K-9 Officer Cash, the Pokagon Tribal Police, the Michigan State Police and the Penn Township Fire Department.
