(STURGIS) – The search will soon begin for a new Executive Director for the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce.

Roxanne Persing announced that she is resigning as the Chamber Director to return to Sturgis High School as a teacher. Persing had been a teacher for many years before being hired as the Chamber Director in June of 2021.

Persing says she spoke to her family and friends to get their input before making a final decision.

Persing will be a co-teacher with the EDGE Program. ...... {LISTEN}.

Persing’s last day as Chamber Director will be January 6. She will start her new duties with Sturgis High School following the Christmas break.

Chamber Board of Directors President Bret Hamlin says the Executive Board has met and put together a plan for moving forward. That includes advertising the position in several locations and going through an interview and hiring process.
