(ALBION) – A long time small business owner has been named to fill a seat on the Noble County Commission.

During a caucus Monday evening, the Noble County Republican Party chose 63 year old Gary Timmerman of Avila to be the County’s District 1 representative on the Noble County Commission. He will take the place of Dave Dolezal, who had been appointed to a term that ends December 31 of this year. Then Timmerman will sit for four years on the Commission in place of Dolezal, who was re-elected to the seat on November 8, but died unexpectedly on November 14.

In other business, the Noble County Republicans selected Natasha Zizelman of Avilla to be the county’s next treasurer. Current Noble County Treasurer Shelly Mawhorter was elected in November to become Noble County auditor. Zizelman, who has worked in the Noble County Assessor’s Office the last four years, will serve the remaining two years of Mawhorter’s term as treasurer.
