(LAGRANGE) – A two year journey came to an end Monday as the LaGrange County Commission approved a new comprehensive plan by a 3-0 vote.

The process to approve the new plan consisted of town hall meetings, discussions, and research. This plan will be used to help navigate LaGrange County’s growth over the next ten years.

The comprehensive plan was created by an Ohio firm that was hired by LaGrange County. The firm specializes in creating these kinds of documents. They hosted a series of community events where they spoke to and listened to community members about what they believed to be important to LaGrange County, both now and in the future.

The LaGrange County Community Foundation paid for the project.

This plan also will also be a step towards updating the LaGrange County zoning ordinance. That would make it a new unified development approach instated of a more traditional process.
