Branch County Plane Crash Injures Two People

(COLDWATER) – A plane crash Friday at the Branch County Memorial Airport injured two people.

Airport Manager Joe Best spoke with Swick Broadcasting and explains what happened. ...... {LISTEN}.

One of the men has a mild concussion and the other only received some bruises in the accident.

The airplane, manufactured by WACO Aircraft Corporation of Battle Creek, is considered a total loss.

A passer-by saw the crash and stopped at a local restaurant to see if someone could help. Restaurant personnel contacted airport staff who put their procedures into operation to handle the situation.

Assisting at the scene were the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, the Coldwater and Bronson Fire Departments along with Life Care Ambulance.

Best says WACO will pick up the plane and take it back to their factory to see if they can help determine what happened. The Federal Aviation Administration and the NTSB are also investigating the crash.
